What do you specialise in making?

My latest work is a series of handmade bags made from my textile designs and combined with high quality embossed cattle leather. The handbags are all unique pieces, created and constructed by myself, in collaboration with a London based leather studio. My work also involves handwoven products like blankets, throws and floor coverings that are all designed and made by myself using luxury materials sourced in the UK.

What part of the making process do you most enjoy: the arrival of an idea or the crafting of the finished piece?

I mostly enjoy the process of textile designing and especially the weaving stage. The preparation of a loom is a lengthy and technical process that I truly enjoy. The best part is the moment where you are just about to start weaving and see the cloth come to life

Can you remember the first thing you made?

A small textile piece made from raffia on a custom-made frame loom.

Does your craft shape the way you consume products?

I do prefer to purchase products that have been carefully thought about.

Where are you happiest outside of your workshop?

Anywhere that is hot and sunny.

A hole-and-corner is a secret place hidden away

from the hustle and bustle of daily life: Where is your own

hole-and-corner?

My home in South London.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?

I was once lectured on leather quality from a very experienced leather trader who could barely walk but could certainly talk.
