See the results of our unique design inspirations project for London Design Festival 2014 here…
As part of our residency at Forge & Co for the Shoreditch Design Triangle during London Design Festival 2014, we invited our contributors, collaborators, friends and followers to help us in a unique collaborative project. We asked everyone who dropped by to sketch or doodle their favourite piece of design. It could be a contemporary item they’d just seen at the Festival, or a personal all-time classic… and in the case of a few participants, something entirely random.
As you might expect, the results varied in quality. Professional illustrators sat side by side with amateurs who’d wandered in off Shoreditch High Street. Designer makers such as Felix de Pass and Donna Wilson provided working sketches of products they were exhibiting at the Festival. Stores including Luna & Curious and Makers & Brothers gave us their best efforts. Bemused tourists drew us self portraits.
But by and large everyone got the idea, and all entered into the spirit of the occasion, helping us to fill the windows of Forge & Co over the course of the week. If you weren’t able to witness it happening live in September, you can now view the results here. See if you can identify the world famous designers from the punters…
